真实历史
他朗的两位女英雄
1785年，缅甸军队进攻普吉（当时叫他朗）。岛上的军事总督刚刚去世，缅军以为可以轻易拿下；来自槟城一带的英国船长弗朗西斯·莱特事先向岛上发出了警告。总督的遗孀和她的妹妹组织岛民守城，用计让缅军高估了岛上的防御，围城一个月后，缅军在1785年3月13日撤退。拉玛一世分别授予两姐妹「陶贴卡萨蒂」和「陶西顺通」的封号。今天普吉的府徽上就是她们的纪念碑。

泰国最大岛屿，锡矿与橡胶贸易的旧日繁华沉淀为普吉老镇的中葡骑楼；如今它是世界级度假岛——芭东的喧嚣、卡伦的宁静、攀牙湾的石灰岩峰林、斯米兰的潜水天堂。查龙寺的香火、大佛的俯瞰，又为海岛添了一份泰式虔诚。

- 海滩度假区着装休闲，但进寺庙、老镇请着装得体
- 泰国小费文化随意（餐厅、按摩给20–50泰铢是礼貌）
- 水上项目注意安全，听从教练。
宗教与信仰
- 上座部佛教为主，查龙寺（Wat Chalong）为普吉最神圣的寺庙
- 参拜礼仪同曼谷寺庙
- 穆斯林社区（如部分渔村）请尊重习俗。

没收、罚款（通常5,000–30,000泰铢）、拘留和起诉；游客和自用均无例外。

不得冒犯泰国王室
- 对王室成员的肖像和相关话题保持尊重与谨慎
- 发表或转发任何批评、调侃王室的言论，网络上也一样
冒犯君主罪的解释范围很宽，可被判长期监禁，对过去和现在的王室成员都适用。
