Europe
Each of Europe's four seasons is a famous scene in its own right: spring brings Dutch flower fields, flower markets in the south of France, and Easter markets everywhere; summer has long days and short nights, with music festivals, beaches, and lake districts in full swing, and near-white nights in the north; autumn is the harvest season — vineyard picking, beer festivals, truffles, and red leaves; winter splits two ways, south to Mediterranean sunshine and Christmas markets, north to Alpine ski resorts and Lapland auroras. Schengen and the rail network make "one trip, several countries' seasons" possible — the Eurostar and night trains are themselves part of the experience.
