Background

A 57-storey integrated resort completed in 2010, its SkyPark infinity pool suspended 200 m in the air, with views over the whole of Marina Bay from the ship's bow. At night the 'Spectra' light and water show lights up the bay, with the Sands and the Merlion facing each other across the water — a monument to Singapore's ambition from fishing village to global financial centre, and the most luxurious footnote to the 'Garden City'.

Local customs

  • Singapore's laws are very strict: smoke-free zones are extensive in public places, and littering and spitting carry heavy fines
  • you must be 21 and carry your passport to enter the casino
  • queuing and punctuality are basic courtesy.

Religion & beliefs

  • Many religions coexist in harmony (Buddhism, Islam, Christianity, Hinduism)
  • Marina Bay Sands itself has no religious character
  • follow each religious site's own etiquette when visiting.
