Why it’s popular
An ordinary road bridge in Tadehara, Fuji City (completed in 2016, linking Routes 139 and 1); because from a certain angle its steps look as if they 'run all the way to the foot of Mount Fuji', it went viral in 2024–2025 on TikTok and YouTube (spot guides with millions of views); on clear days nearly a thousand people a day queue to take photos, prompting residents' complaints about noise, illegal parking and trespassing on farmland.

Background
Fuji City is the 'capital of paper' and an industrial city at the southern foot of Mount Fuji, and the bridge was originally a local commuter route; the name 'Yume no Ōhashi' (Bridge of Dreams) expresses residents' simple feeling of 'living with Mount Fuji every day', and after it became famous overnight the city promoted it as a photo spot.
Local customs
- Take photos only from the pavement — walking onto the roadway is strictly forbidden
- the city asks visitors to 'shoot quietly and take turns'
- don't enter nearby vacant lots or fields
- take all rubbish with you
- use the designated car park.
Religion & beliefs
None. Mount Fuji is a sacred mountain, and Fujisan Hongū Sengen Taisha on the Shizuoka side is the head shrine of all Sengen shrines in Japan — you can visit on the way.

Locals appreciate DO
Residents strongly dislike early-morning noise and trespassing on private land, and appreciate rule-abiding, softly spoken visitors. Never hog the steps for long to get a 'no-people' shot.
