Contexto cultural

The Hongya Cave folk-style area opened in 2006; its main buildings imitate traditional Bayu stilt houses, eleven storeys stepping down the hillside beside the Jialing River. After 2016 it went viral on short-video apps and became the city's calling card; its tiered pavilions glowing gold at night are often compared to the bathhouse in Spirited Away, a visual footnote to the mountain city's three-dimensional terrain.

Costumbres locales

  • bangbang porters, hotpot and jianghu cuisine are the trio of street life. 'This is the Fog Capital' is a point of local pride.
