Contexto cultural
Galle Fort was first built by the Portuguese in the late 16th century and expanded by the Dutch in the mid-17th century into a strong sea fortress; it became a World Heritage Site in 1988. Inside the walls is a well-preserved Dutch colonial town of churches, governor's residence, and warehouses turned into cafés and boutique hotels. At dusk, local boys play football on the ramparts and dive from the rocks near the lighthouse, as colonial history meets lively street life.

- the old town's gem shops, lace shops and craft stores are worth a browse.
Religión y creencias
